On March 25, 1988, Kurt Browning landed the first ever quadruple jump in competition at Worlds in Budapest, Hungary. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the occasion, Kurt fans put together an online card and a group donation of $800 to the Terry Fox Foundation in Kurt's honor. Kurt has seen both the card and the donation, and was very
touched, thanking everyone who participated, and saying that it was
very global, very touching, and very cool. Thanks again to everyone for their generous contributions!

- Kurt Browning will be one of six professional male skaters to compete in "Thin Ice," a 5-night, audience voting, elimination-style competition to be held at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods from Dec. 18-23. It appears that the show will be broadcast on television, with television audiences voting, but no word yet on which network will be airing the competition. - According to the August 2008 Ballet News from the National Ballet of Canada,
"Principal Dancer Sonia Rodriguez and husband Kurt Browning renewed their
marriage vows on July 25, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Toronto. The
couple was married in 1996 and has two children, Gabriel and Dillon."

- Kurt Browning was awarded the 2008 Gustave Lussi Award by the Professional Skaters Association, which is "presented to a male, professional skater who has brought recognition to the sport in a positive and favorable manner." Kurt also won this award in 2001.
